Mount Union was where I belonged as soon as I walked on campus. Everybody was just so nice and welcoming, in a way I never experienced at any other campus.

I was actually verbally committed to play lacrosse at a school in Indiana. I had a previous high school teammate that insisted that I keep my options open and for me to visit Mount Union, stay in contact with the coach, 然后过夜. I listened and came here to do just that. Mount Union was where I belonged as soon as I walked on campus. Everybody was just so nice and welcoming, in a way I never experienced at any other campus. It was very genuine, calm, and inviting. I was thankful to receive the Dean’s Scholarship to attend school here. I would tell students looking at colleges to go visit the campus that you never thought you would like. Sometimes it’s the unexpected ones that make the best experiences.

为什么心理学?

I was originally a nursing major. I prepared all through high school and I even got my STNA license. I was sitting in my nursing class freshman year, and I realized that it wasn’t for me. I went to the 学生的成功 Center right away for guidance for what to do. I was told to take a few short questionaries to figure out my personality and what fit me best. I figured out three things. First, I belonged in a career field where I could help others. 第二个, the brain was a fascinating organ and I wanted to learn more about why people do the things that they do. Lastly, I realized my life revolves around sports and I wanted to be in an athletic atmosphere. These realizations helped me pick psychology as my major and I want to specifically pursue sport psychology.

的职业目标

My end goal is to work hand in hand with professional athletes or to even be signed with a professional team as their sport psychologist. Mount Union has truly prepared me for this journey. I also believe that the Integrative Core will make me a better professional in my field. Though classes feel tedious in the moment, they will benefit me in the long run.
